PowerToy has been quite busy updating itself with bug fixes and releasing new utilities. The latest release, version 0.16, includes some new utilities that you may find useful to your day to day work.
Image Resizer
Image Resizer is a Windows Shell Extension for quickly resizing images. With a simple right-click from File Explorer, resize one or many images instantly.

And you get a number of preset choices what the size of your new images will be.

Fairly easy and fill in a gap where Windows 10 somehow doesn’t have this feature built-in its core system.
Windows Walker
Window Walker is an app that lets you search and switch between windows that you have open. As you are searching for an app, you can use the keyboard up and down arrows to see an Alt-Tab style preview of the windows. In the future, this will be merged into the Launcher project.
Simply press Win + Ctrl, and start typing.

Preview Pane
Preview Pane is an existing and very useful feature in the File Explorer. To enable it, you just click the View tab in the ribbon and then click “Preview Pane”. The new PowerToy now enables two new types files to be previewed:
- Markdown files (.md)
- SVG (.svg)
It will be very useful for website front-end developers.

If you haven’t used PowerToys, these new utilities should get you started. Go to the release page to download the MSI package which is embedded in the Assets section.
