Windows Spotlight is a new Lock Screen feature in Windows 10 that shows you the beautiful images from Bing and certain running Windows apps. When turned on, you, as the end user, get to vote the Lock Screen images so you can curate the types of images that will be displayed on your Lock Screen. For example, if you’ve “liked” images of nature, you will start seeing more pictures of them showing up on your Lock Screen.

After you have voted the pictures, you like to have a while you will be constantly seeing a lot of stunning picture coming their way to your lock screen. They look so beautiful that you would like to save some of them for other use.

How to download and save Windows 10 Spotlight Lock Screen Pictures

Or, simply use this free portable tool called Lock Screen Reflection to set the current spotlight image as the wallpaper on your desktop.

Download the zipped file and extract the executable file called lsr.exe on to your desktop for easy access. Then when you see an image on Lock Screen that you really like, double-click lsr.exe on your desktop to set that image as your wallpaper right away.

Where is the desktop background picture saved?

Once the spotlight image on the Lock Screen gets set as your desktop background image, Windows automatically saves a copy named as TranscodedWallper in your profile under the following location.

%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes

Depending on the version of Windows 10 you are using, the copy of the desktop background could be saved in a folder called CachedFiles at the above location.
