How To Add Office 365 Resource Mailbox to Calendar’s App on Windows 10

I have a number of Office 365 resource mailboxes used for meeting room scheduling at the office. Since Windows 10 has the Calendar app that works really well out of the box, it could be a perfect fit for these resource mailboxes without using the full-blown Outlook app.

To add the resource account, open the Calendar app from the Start menu, and click the gear icon at the bottom of the left pane and Manage Accounts link that pops up.

Click Add account and choose Office 365 as the type of account you want to add.

Type in the email address of the resource mailbox, sign in, and click Yes when prompted by “Are you trying to add, update, or remove your email account?”.

That’s about it. Fairly straightforward.

However, depend on the security roles set up in your computer, you may get this warning message saying that:

This device doesn’t meet the security requirements set by your email administrator.

To bypass that, go to the gear icon, Manage Account, and the account you just set up. Then click Change mailbox sync settings,

Disable Email and Contacts and click Done.

Now you are all set.
